In Suffolk, we are committed to ensuring that Sizewell C benefits everyone while protecting the local environment and community. As work begins, we are taking steps to minimise disruption by managing traffic, creating new infrastructure, and preserving our natural spaces through conservation and biodiversity efforts.
We’re also supporting the local community by offering training, employment opportunities, and education initiatives for residents and schools.
Our goal is to build Sizewell C in a way that respects Suffolk, reduces impacts, and leaves a lasting positive legacy for the region.
Key benefits for Suffolk
Investment in local employment, education and skills. This includes an aim to create 1,500 apprenticeships.
The funding programme, known as the Deed of Obligation, has been agreed as part of the planning process to mitigate impacts and compensate for the construction and in some cases into the operational phases whilst ensuring legacy benefits for local communities for decades to come.
Sizewell C will build upon the heritage of Sizewell B and the nuclear renaissance underway at Hinkley Point C to support jobs, the UK’s energy security and climate ambitions.
Support the growth of the local economy. This includes measures to support local firms to gain work on the project.

By keeping an open dialogue and actively listening to your concerns, we aim to make this process as smooth as possible. Together, we can ensure that the development of Sizewell C brings long-term benefits while respecting and supporting the community throughout the construction period.
